     Government College Mahendergarh maintains a strong ethical work culture based on inclusivity and equal opportunity for all, irrespective of gender, caste, creed, religion, or socio-economic status.

 

     Recruitment of employees as per the roster, ensuring diversity and inclusivity.

 

     Priority given to safety, security, well-being, and a gender-friendly working environment.

 

     Gender sensitivity embedded in institutional ethos and reflected in various initiatives.

 

 

 

 

(a) Safety and Security

 

     Security guards at the main gate; entry allowed only with valid ID cards.

    

       Rotational duty of faculty members for discipline and security.

 

     Strict implementation of anti-ragging measures to maintain a ragging-free campus.

 

     Awareness campaigns on women’s safety and gender sensitivity through rallies and NSS camps.

 

     Campus surveillance through CCTV cameras at prominent locations.

 

     Women faculty accompany girl students during outdoor activities, tours, and field visits.

 

     Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) interacts regularly with girl students to address and resolve issues.

 

     Social security ensured through Anti-Ragging and Grievance Redressal Committees.

 

     Disciplinary Committee monitors and curbs indiscipline on campus.

 

     Complaint boxes placed to receive grievances or suggestions from students.

 

 

 

 

 

(b) Counseling

 

     Faculty mentors counsel students on academics, career planning, and personal issues.

 

     Mentor–Mentee programmes address students’ psychological concerns.

 

     ICC members periodically enquire and counsel students regarding their problems.

 

     Eminent personalities from police and constitutional bodies invited to sensitize students on ragging, eve-teasing, and harassment.

 

     Functional Grievance Redressal Committees for staff and students.

 

     Placement Cell and Alumni Placement Assistance Cell guide girl students on career planning and entrepreneurship policies.

 

     Periodic health counseling, value-based counseling, and career counseling sessions.

 

 

(c) Common Rooms

 

ICC monitors the upkeep and facilities in Common Rooms for girl students.

 

 

 

 

 

(d) Other Measures of Gender Sensitization

 

     Integration of gender sensitization content into curriculum and coursework.

 

     Co-curricular and extracurricular activities promoting inclusivity and equal participation.

 

     Sports and cultural events at intra-faculty, inter-faculty, and inter-university levels ensuring equal opportunities.

Annual Gender Sensitization Action Plan

 

     Create and propagate a safe, secure, and healthy environment ensuring gender equality and respectful behavior.

 

     Conduct awareness programmes on self-defense, AIDS awareness, and female foeticide.

 

     Promote health, cleanliness, personal hygiene, and nutrition-related activities.

 

     Organize entrepreneurship development and career enhancement sessions.

 

     Conduct workshops related to cybercrime, safety, and security.

 

     Review minutes and Action Taken Reports of Women Empowerment Cell, ICC, Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee, and Grievances Redressal Committee for timely redressal.

 

     Develop and implement a Student Code of Conduct promoting gender equality at the governance level.

 

     Encourage students to join NSS and ensure equal rights and participation in cultural activities.
